If you receive a text that appears to be from the Illinois Department Of Transportation (IDOT) asking for your personal information, it is a scam. IDOT recommends people delete unsolicited texts that request personal information or promise driver's licenses or IDs.
THe Illinois Department of Transportation is aware of the fake text and are working with the Illinois Attorney General’s office to protect the public from these fraudulent schemes.
