Venmo User Text Scam Free Gift and Survey

The Venmo User text below, which claims recipients have received a free gift worth at least $100 for a 2-minute survey, is a scam. The fake text is being sent by scammers who are attempting to trick their potential victims by clicking the link in it. The link will take potential victims to a phishing website that steals account credentials, personal or financial information. Or, it may go to a spam website where visitors will be tricked into buying unwanted services or products.

    Beware! Just received same text message from “Venmo” a (650)-229-9269 number stating I need to claim my $100 gift card by clicking the link and take a survey and provide my personal information. Nowhere in the message does it have MY name NOR does the link have “Venmo” or anything related to Venmo in the web address anywhere in it! This is the link (durationzhandlev.com/XNF4Jyx) Sketchy
