Online Threat Alerts (OTA) - Alerting you to scams and frauds.
Scammers are calling potential victims and spoofing their telephone numbers to make the calls appear as if they are calling from Verizon customer support number: 800-922-0204. The aim of the scam calls is to trick potential victims into disclosing their account credentials, personal and financial information. Once the scammers receive the information, they will use it fraudulently.
Some of the spoofed calls claims recipients will receive a special reward, and to receive payment, they need to log in to fake and phishing Verizon websites. Some of the calls will claim the recipients' accounts have been suspended or deactivated.
Verizon will never contact you and ask for account credentials, PIN, or personal or financial information over the phone.
If you received a suspicious call that appears to be from Verizon asking for information or asking you to go to a website, contact Verizon directly to verify the authenticity of the call.
