The DPD delivery scam involves fraudulent texts or emails claiming a missed delivery or requiring an unpaid fee to release a package. These messages contain phishing links leading to fake websites that steal personal, credit card, or bank information. Do not click links, check sender domains, and report messages to 7726.

Indicators of a Scam

  • Suspicious Sender Address: Emails not ending in official ...dpd.com or regional equivalents (e.g., @dpd.nl, @dpd.fr).
  • Urgent Payment Requests: Demanding payment for "shipping fees," "customs," or "rescheduling" by credit card or prepaid vouchers.
  • Suspicious Links: URLs that do not point to the official dpd.com site.
  • Poor Grammar/Language: Phishing messages often contain typos or odd language.

Protect Yourself

  • Do Not Click: Avoid clicking links in texts or emails regarding unexpected or scheduled deliveries.
  • Verify Independently: If you are expecting a parcel, go directly to the official DPD website and enter your tracking number there rather than clicking the link in the message.
  • Check Sender Info: DPD will not use gmail, hotmail, or other public email domains.
  • Do Not Pay Fees: DPD does not request additional payment to release a parcel.

  • Report Suspicious Messages: Forward scam texts to 7726 (a free service in the UK and other regions).
  • Contact Your Bank: If you entered credit card details, inform your bank immediately.
  • Contact DPD Directly: Use the official DPD website to report the fraud.
