In this email message, the scammers want you to believe that the email came from macae.rj.gov.br. They do this to trick you into believing that the e-mail is legitimate by using a technique called email spoofing. Now, if you reply to this email message, your information will be sent to email address email@example.com and not to the email address at macae.rj.gov.br from where the email appeared to have been sent from.
Avoid sending your information to anyone that request it from free e-mail address providers like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo and other free e-mail providers. Everyone can create an e-mail address at anyone of these free e-mail providers and use it for scamming.
