I have had the same missed call twice, was wondering why a court way down south would be phoning me away up on the North Coast of Scotland, so googled and ended up here. I will answer them next time and lead them a merry dance lol

I had a call from this number too. Fortunately, I didn’t answer it and checked the details online ( phone number and info on Oldham Court).

I know it relates to a car hire from several years back and the subsequent, totally unjustified demands for payment after returning the car. The car hire company has employed a debt collection agency near Oldham.

the car hire company, the debt collection agency and now this fake imitation of Oldham County Court are all villainous. What a world we live in.

    I had a lucky escape!

Also happened to my husband today, 31 August 2021. Told him he had an arrest warrant out on him and all his assets were frozen - he supposedly owed £1999.50 due to unpaid taxes - but agent couldn't tell us when they were due from and refused to give any details. When I pressed him for specifics he hung up

This number rang me half an hour ago. I couldn't get to the phone, but as I was expecting an important call from the North, thought this could be it.

I rang it back and the recorded message which does indeed sound official said I had reached Manchester civil justice centre! It put me on hold, so I assume the number is real.

So I then punched the number into Google and arrived here. 🤔

I guess it's the same as when scammers use local numbers to you to make it look like a kosher call and they're not.

Thank you. I almost called them back but couldn't think of any reason they would have called me

  • August 26, 2021 at 3:36 AM by an anonymous user from: Greater London, England, United Kingdom

Yes it's a scam. I spoke to a bailiff from the court and their system got hacked. Personally I love scams. You keep them on the line and give them dummy card details or fake amazon gift card numbers. It's fun. Once kept a scammer busy for a week with an amazon scam. If you're wasting their time, you're potentially stopping them scamming more.

Ýes the courts number is compromised. If you ever get anyone on the phone asking for bank details, tell them to whistle. Not even your bank calls you to ask for bank details.
