eBay Gift Card Scam - ATT DIRECTV Year Deal 50% Offering

There is an eBay gift card scam going on. Scammers are calling pretending to be AT&T/DirecTV offering a 2-year deal at 50% off and channels #500-#564, if you are willing to pay the upfront price of $500. The trick is you have to purchase an eBay $500 gift card to pay to activate your new 50% off subscription. This has to take place before they will give you an activation code to start your new subscription. But, I checked with AT&T/Directv before signing up for this deal and found it is a SCAM! They said they will never ask for payment via gift cards and if you are asked to do so, it is a scam.

Your $500 will go bye-bye in a flash. We checked with AT&T to verify this offer is a Fraud. The customer service agent told us that he had already 5 customer call-ins to verify that this offer is a scam.
